The holiday season started off fine. We saw Santa at church - and told June after the picture that she did not have to hold Santa's hand if she didn'tt want to!. We were all still wearing masks in public spaces, showing vaccination cards before shows. All were vaccinated and I was even boosted. Then Dad and I went to a s mall fundraising event, and got breakthrough covid from our dear friend, Jenny, the week before Christmas.
One by one everyone showed symptoms and tested positive - first Dad, then me, then you and June, then Carter. We tested a bunch, quaratined, slept, and most lost voices. You were determined to not get it - double masking and putting signs are your door that masks were required. Then you tested positive, and still wore masks. I asked why, and you said, "you didn't want to get more covid." Um, not possible.
I was very thankful we were all vaccinated and our symptoms were insanely mild. An extra nap, a runny noise, and scratchy throat for a couple days, that was about it.
Because of covid, Christmas came early! No more fun times with a babysitter. Instead it was fun times with your new gifts - a record player and lots of little things.
Because of covid, we cancelled the ski trip to NC, and headed to the beach with the Piper-Osbournes. We all had covid anyway - so who cares!
You spent most of the time hanging with Glancy, Jenny, and Keri - and occasionally us.
Merry covid Xmas!
