Letter to Santa

Maevs-

At school yesterday you wrote this letter to Santa with your teachers. This letter is hilarious for several reasons:
1. Do you really want kittens or did your teacher just think kittens and you were actually thinking about the kitchen.
2. You are really set on this new kitchen thing. Can you actually tell that it's something we got 2nd hand or are you just thinking I want a new, as in different, kitchen.
3. What is wrong with your adorable, antique table?
4. You know what else is getting old, YOU! (aww, snap! burn!..just kidding)

I have a feeling Santa is going to dissapoint you this year. Maybe we can distract you with colorful new toys.

Love you,

Mommy

Making a List

Hi Maevy-

Daddy grabbed this gem from your art cubby at school yesterday. It was of course written on pink paper with an orange marker; so I had to do a little reformatting to get the words to show up.

Here's your Christmas list-
- a new play kitchen (for your playroom...not sure what's wrong with the current one)
- a writing pad
- gummy bears (they've had these at school recently for rewards)
- bottles for playing
- pink paper (of course)
- A LOT of scissors (totally something I bet you saw in your classroom while coming up with this list)
- 2 babies
- and 2 shopping carts for your 2 babies

I can pretty much guarantee you aren't going to get any of this stuff, and I bet if I asked you today what you want for Christmas it would be totally different. Either way, it's an adorable list.

Love you,

Mom

PS. It's Hanukkah this week, and at school they went around asking everyone what they thought a Menorah was. You were the only who answered correctly, replying "candles". I hope you saw this in a book and actually learned it, rather than a lucky guess. I followed up after school and asked if there was anything at our house that was similar to a Menorah and you correctly replied, "our advent wreath!". So smart. Love you!
