End of 2nd Grade

Last Report Card -

All 3s and As

Note from Ms. Kessler -
Maevy has done so well in second grade. She is such a smart girl with a mind that never stops wondering and thinking. She is curious and eager to learn. I have loved being her teacher. She will do great in 3rd grade. Have a wonderful summer!

Spring shoot - Maevy, Age 8

Some of my favorite Maevy pics -

Oh and thanks for making our family picture perfect - by putting your head on Daddy's shoulder - it really ties it all together -

End of 2nd Grade Conference

Maevy-girl-

We had a quick conference call with Ms. Kessler to see how the year wrapped up.

She said:
- You made great strides across the board - in all subjects.
- You are resourceful and ask thought provoking questions.
-You really enjoy problem solving and challenge type activities.
- While you are still reading at a very high level, she recommending working a little on "thinking beyond the text".
- She really enjoyed having you in her class and loved watching your brain work. She even said- you get this face when you're working something out - which I thought was cute.

I asked about putting together a Summer Challenge book for you and she was supportive. She recommended:
- Patricia Polocco books and doing an author study on her.
- STEM Projects
- Teachers pay teachers for STEM and other ideas.
- Creating a multiplication game.

End of School year reading level: Instructional Level U; Read on Level: T

I put most everything together, but Ms. Kessler gave it to you and offered to have lunch with you or meet up after school, so you can show her all your work.

You seemed game and are most excited about the STEM projects.

We're super proud of you and can't wait to see what 3rd grade brings. :)

Love you,

Mommy & Daddy

End of School Event Craziness - Part 1

Cinco de Mayo party @ school - that you talked Daddy into coming to -

2nd Grade Class Photo

Oh 2nd grade...you all look so silly. I love it.

Also - there are 2 girls in this picture that I have seriously never heard of! Who are Lily and Olivia. I have never once heard you even mention their names! In a class of only 20, you clearly have a core, small group of friends.

My Mom and I like to watch Survivor and Amazing Race. (True!)
I'm organized. (True!)
I like to clean. (I like a clean house, don't really like cleaning.)
I work at Lexon security. (close)

Annual strawberry picking -  Your brother insisted I get a picture of you guys eating one.

Later that night - you looked super cute in Cart'ers baseball shirt and hat. :)

1st Communion

Maevy -

After a year of hard work in class, you made your 1st Communion this weekend. You looked beautiful in Aunt Robyn's dress and at the last minute decide to go with a new veil Grandma had found that had matching tiny flowers on it, rather than the veil Aunt Robyn used. I thought they both looked good.

You looked very flower- child like and I loved it.

We had to switch things up a little because of the weather and your brother's baseball game. So we had a nice lunch with cake on Saturday with family. (Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Robyn, Uncle Jake, and Cousin Jackson all came in town for the big event.)

Then Sunday - we got ready and headed to mass, stopped by the reception and then headed straight to Carter's baseball game.
