Hey Maevy-
Here are some recent, fun stories-
1. We went to see The Sound of Music in a movie theater last weekend. You loved all 4 hours of our time together, but Mom was kind of tired afterwards. You had a million questions during the 2nd half that you asked me mulitple times! Here are a few-
Why did Maria leave?
Why did Maria go back to the nums (she kept calling the nuns, nums)?
Why did the Captain need to break-up with the Baroness?
How did the Baroness know that the Captain liked Maria?
How did Maria know she loved the Captain?
Why did Rolph join the bad army?
Why did the bad army want the Captain?
Why did the bad army need more people?
Why did Louisia say "Rolph!" when she saw Rolph at the end?
2. Recently we were in the car, and you asked me about the numbers on houses. So we started talking about addresses and I brought up phone numbers. I told you Mom's phone number, and you immediately responded- "Three Zeroes!"- which was correct! Then I told you Dad's phone number, you immediately responded- "Three Sixes!"- which was also correct! Pretty impressive...
3. Note to self: We need to be more careful about letting you watch somewhat random things on tv. We recently let you watch the end of Tim Burton's Alice and Wonderland. I barely understand any Tim Burton film; so it's been a little difficult answering all of your questions this week regarding the very strange and confusing ending. Sorry!
Love you lots,
Mommy

2014 Wishes
Hi Maevy-
Happy New Year! Your PK teacher just posted your wishes for the new year. They are all pretty hiliarious and range from "all the money in the world" to "making monster trucks come alive." You went with the very important - "fireworks". I think I can make that wish come true!
From New Year eve with Henry Patton, Monty, and Cash. I think you all had fun!
Happy New Year!
Love you,
Mommy

Christmas 2013
Maevy -
Here is your note to Santa-
And from Santa-
And some pictures from Christmas Mass..and Christmas (in general)
I think the big hits this year were obviously the iPad mini that M hooked you up with, the tent, and the board games. We usually set up the tent whenever you have a friend over, and you've taken a few naps in there too. We've also started doing Saturday or Sunday night game night. I think your favorites right now are Sequence and Uno.
I hope you had a great Christmas! We love you lots!

Christmas Pics
Hey Maev-
Here are some pretty adorable pics of you during our most recent Christmas card shoot. It was 20 degrees outside, and you had no coat on...so we finished up the shoot in under 10 minutes. Check out your red- rudolph nose.
I love the one with your eyes closed.
Love you,
Mommy

Love Note to Mom and Dad
Lately you and your friends, Mille and Lily, have been writing a lot at school. Your favorite things to write are I love Mommy, Daddy, and Carter. Love Maevy. We usually get daily drawings or notes with some variation of that information on them.
This time you actually wrote us a love note.
Mom & Dad-
Have a great day at work. Carter. I love Carter. I love my whole family.
Love,
Maevy
Very sweet, Maev.
Love you!

1st Mad Libs
Maevy,
Last weekend, we headed to the Nashville Children's Theater to see Schoolhouse Rock Live! Then you got to see it again with your class later in the week.
We learned all about nouns, adjectives, the 19th amendment, and how a bill becomes a law. In the program there was MadLibs game. You (with Daddy's help) came up with the words later that night after dinner.
Here is the final story-
Pretty silly, but I think you know what a noun and adjective are now. :)
Love you,
Mom

Here is the final story-
Today when I woke up, I was so excited because I
remembered I was going to the land of make believe
to see Schoolhouse Rock Live! But I almost didn’t make it. Let me tell you the books.
As soon as I woke up, I conversely jumped out of my noun and put
on my pizza and my yellow shoes. I ate a brown breakfast
of rainbow and skittles. As I was leaving my house, I found two Poppy
dollars on the buffet. I ran easily to the park so I could give
them to Margot. But when I got there, all I could find was muddy,
toothy, warm bear! I thought it was going to dance me! I quickly
escaped from the bear only to find a pack of loving rabid stuffed
animals! I threw some drinks at them to try and distract them. It
didn’t work! Instead, they dressed me all the way to Nashville Children’s
Theater. But hey, at least I made it on time for the pasta.
You die laughing at the ..."put on my pizza" and "made it on time for the pasta" parts.
Love you,
Mom
1st Love Note
When you started Pre-K, parents were asked to write love notes to their children daily, as a way to encourage reading. These are usually read at nap time. Above is Daddy's 1st Love note, and probably his shortest one ever. Since then the love notes have gotten a lot longer; so much so that Daddy usually writes them the night before. Now loves notes include a word of the day and sometimes- song lyrics, a movie plot, a made-up story, or a joke.
Mommy will occasionally write, but they are never as creative as Daddy's. You, of course, love the long notes, and like to demand that they are a full page long. One thing I did start, is signing Carter's name with an animal. He's usually Carter-koala, Cart-dog, Carter-kangaroo, or today he was Carter-piggie.
Here's a more recent love note-
Daddy has decided to tell you Star Wars triology via love note. Also he started including a Word of the Day. If you remember the Word of the Day when we pick you up, we give you praise and usually offer a small treat, like a skittle.
The example below is one of many reason why you have a pretty awesome Daddy!
Side note: Since you are one of the 1st people in your class to arrive at school, you have some extra time in the morning. Lately, you have used that time to decorate your love note with pictures. You noted that the one above didn't give you much room to decorate.
Love you and your love notes-
Mom
