Sick Day- Month Birthday
Yesterday you got kicked out of daycare, not for bad behavior, but because you had a 103.1 temperature. Daddy picked you up immediately and took you home. You took several naps and went to bed early. You're weren't allowed to go back to daycare until you were fever free for 24hours. So you spent your 11-Month Birthday at home. You didn't have a fever all day, but were very clingy and whiny. Mommy took care of you in the morning. Then we stopped by Daddy's work and you all hung out the rest of the afternoon. I think these pics pretty much sum of your day...lots of rest and cuddling.
It's a little blurry, but at least there's a little smile.

Month 10
This month you switched to a 2-3-4 pattern. You wake up and are up for 2 hours, nap at 9am, then up for 3 hours, then nap at 2p, then up for 4 hours, and in bed at 6:45p. You are eating lots of great food- vegetables, chicken, tofu, fruit, and yogurt.
You had a couple snow days from school this month. Mommy stayed home with you one day and one day M and Pop came up.
One snowy weekend we took a fun trip to the library where we read, played with toys, and ran around.
My notes from the month say that you like to climb and bounce around in the playpen and throw things/balls.
Favorite books: "Pat the Bunny", "Wheels on the Bus", and any pop-up book. You love your activity garden, bathtime, and cuddling with Mommy/Daddy before bedtime.
Love you Maevy.

Month 9
Month 9 Stats - 21 lbs, 7 oz.
(I'm not really sure what happened to any or all of our Christmas photos, but this is the only I had on file.)
By this month you were taking a short morning nap, a short late afternoon nap, and a long nap from 12-1pm. You started feeding yourself and the big news this month was that you started walking (or at least taking a couple steps on your own)!
We finally baby proofed the house and installed locks on the cabinets and a gate at the bottom of the stairs. Our favorite songs were still "Maevy-Baby" and "I'm a Little Teapot".
We were also obsessed with the books "Peak-a-boo Who", "Pat the Bunny", and "Where is Baby's Belly Button?".
Your favorite toys this month were your push toy (you got for Christmas), any cell phone, toothbrush, and mommy's brush. And you would start laughing whenever Mommy or Daddy acted like they've been hurt.
Your dislikes were getting your nose wiped and getting in the car seat.
The big event this month was your trip to Memphis. We spent ten days in Memphis for Christmas, and you actually travelled to Memphis with Daddy while Mommy went to New Orleans for a couple days with Grandma, Aunt Lesley, and Aunt Robyn. You were great, of course.
Looking forward to watching you really walk next month!

Month 8
Month 8 Stats
Length?, 21 lbs 7 oz
Length?, 21 lbs 7 oz
This month you started standing really well - even walking around the ottoman. Your sign language skills are coming along well, with "all done", "milk", "bottle", and "more" being the ones you've mastered so far. Clapping is a big hit for you, as is throwing and slamming toys to the ground.
We had these next several photos taken professionally to be used as our first Family Christmas Card. You had some cute moments, but overall were not exactly pleased to be taking pictures instead of a nap. Grandma & Grandpa were there to be in some, and you really didn't like Santa. You just wailed when you saw him and this was the "best" of the shoot.

Here you are at the Grandparents house, hanging with a pumpkin.
This one is from Thanksgiving, spent with the Taylors, when we went to the park with your cousins and other family and you swung - and looked like a "pod-baby".
A trip to the zoo with the Wyckoff family was a good time. Here Aunt Robyn is holding you while Grandpa's hat is on your head.
Here are Grandpa and you on a carousel at the Memphis Zoo. You seem to like going around in circles and up & down
This tongue thing you do is interesting - it's like you're trying to keep your chin sufficiently moist, which is odd because of how much you drool.
Love you Maevy,
Daddy

Month 7
Month 7 Stats
Length?, 21 lbs
This month you started crawling. You held a spoon for the first time, and by the end of the month you were able to stand alone. We also started to teach you some sign language (hi and bye; all-done).

Your top two front teeth started to come and we had some professional pictures taken with M and Pop. My favorite was the "Baby in a Bucket"!
October was filled with lots of fun events. We visited Lucky Ladd Farms and you played in the corn pit, and on a tractor.

and we went over to Mommy and Daddy's friend's place (Justin) for Pumpkin Day!
You didn't help much, but we did take this cute picture of you "driving" on the way there.

Aunt Lesley visited the weekend of Halloween, and since you had so much hair, I thought Pebbles would be the perfect costume. Aunt Lesley made the bone hair clip on her "special engineering machine."

We noticed that you loved this garden toy at our church nursery. It let you play and pull up, and not get toppled by the bigger kids. I set out to find you the garden toy for the house. It took some major searching on the internet, but I found it. Oh and so did Grandpa. So you had 2! garden centers, 1 in Nashville and 1 in Memphis. Ridiculous, I know. Here you are in the garden center...all covered in toys.

Love you, Maevy.

Month 6
Month 6 Stats
27 3/4 inches, 19lbs 6.5 oz
Month 6 was a lot of fun. You started pulling up on everything. There was lots of scooting, babbling, and high-pitch screaming. AND you were able to move from your back or tummy to a sitting position.
The other big news this month was that you started to drink Mommy's yummy homemade vegetable stock from a sippy cup.
Here you are at Pool Day with Mommy and Daddy's old neighbor, Stacie.

And here you are covered in all of your toys-

We meant to get some professional pictures made this month, but Mommy made a major faux pas and took us with Grandpa and Grandma all the way to Louisville on the wrong weekend. Oops. We still took some photos and we visited the Louisville Slugger Museum.
Still fun, right? Love you, Maevy

Month 5
Month 5 Stats
27 1/4 inches,19 lbs
During Month 5, 2 front teeth started to show up and with the teeth came lots of chewing on anything and everything. And these would eventually make you not-so-interested in breastfeeding (just a guess). We attended our neighborhood Tomato Festival with M and Pop, and you were in your first parade.

The very next day we went to a County Fair with M and Pop where you rode a carousel and you almost petted lots of animals.

We got some professional pictures taken of you and this time Daddy insisted on putting you in some Nationals gear. Go Nats!
You started to sit up by yourself for 1 to 2 minutes (see above), and Mommy picked you up a Jumper-roo. Turns out you are not much of a jumper. You would jump for a minute or two and then want out.
At the end of the month Mommy attended her 10yr High School Reunion. Go Devils! I made a note on your calendar that you were a very happy baby.
Love you, Maev.

Month 4
Maev-
By this point, we had gotten in swing of things. You even made a friend at daycare, Aaron. We heard several stories of the two of you holding hands.
You were still waking up once a night, but soon you'll be sleeping through.
This month you kicked and splashed a lot in the bath, and turned over by yourself for the first time.
Other milestones of the month-
We finally got your first professional pictures taken by Sarah B. Gilliam.
We headed to Memphis for a weekend to attend Aunt Lesley's friend, Mary's wedding, and you took your first pool side nap.
More back yard pool time fun with Mommy- nice bikini
Here you are trying your first solid food- avocado
And for July 4th- we headed to the Hot Chicken Festival in our neighborhood, East Nashville. It was a hot day, but you were great (as always). That night Mommy and Daddy met up with some new friends, the Williams, and watched fireworks from the back of their car. (It rained, and you slept the whole time in the front seat.) Happy 1st July 4th!

Month 3
Maev-
At 10 weeks, we started your bedtime routine which started at 6:30p with dinner, then bathtime, and bedtime. You would sleep from 7:30p to 3:30a, and then from 4a- 6:30a or 7:30a.
Likes: bath time
Dislikes: Getting out of the bath and getting your nose cleaned
This month you started sucking on your hand, smiling when people would smile at you, and you lifted your head 90 degrees.
The big trip of the month was to Clemson to see Aunt Robyn graduate college. You had lots of attention and met Great-Grandpa, Barbara, Cousin Barbara, and George.
Here are some fun pictures from the month- ridiculously cute pic of you and Daddy,
smiles,
bubbles,
mad baby,
hoodie
The day of your month birthday was pretty funny because you went to school in a onesie and came home wearing jeans- that weren't yours! Luckily they were cute!
Love you Maevy.
