Little Library

We don't have a bunch of traffic, but a little library is something that I've always wanted. You're a fan :)

End of 1st Grade Reading Level

Hey Maevster -

Off the charts again in reading - it looks like your currently testing at end of 4th grade reading level.

I thought the note from Ms. Young was smart and sweet.

Keep up the great work! I hope your love of reading stays with you for a lifetime!

Love,

Mommy

Sleeping Reader

Back to the Read-a-thon.... we got home later than usual last Friday, but you insisted on still meeting your reading goal. Later I found you like this - snoring - somehow still holding up your book.

The next morning - I asked if the iPad timer went off and did you turn out your light to go to sleep? You said yes...but then I showed you the pictures, and you laughed and laughed. But then asked - "Did I still meet my goal?"

You're a nut..but I love you.

1st Grade Reading Level

Someone's reading at a 3rd grade level. :) We're super proud of you! You came home stating - "only 10 more till I get to Z!"

I heard that a parent has led a book club for above grade level readers - so I'm hoping you'll be able to join soon!

Keep up the great work, smarty pants!

Pre-K Reader

Maevy-ball,

Remember when I posted a few months ago about starting Pre-K, and how you had just read "Bark, George" to us. Well...cut to 2 months later and you are full fledged early reader now.

The day that your teacher told me that she wanted to pull you aside to work on reading, since you are ahead of the rest of class, I ran out to McKay's and bought you 15 Early/Pre-Readers. Books like Follow Me, Kit and Kat, I'm Not a Dinosaur, and Dick and Jane stories. Most of the books are easy concepts, short sentences, and lots of repetition...you know early readers! Grandma bought you the collection of Dick and Jane books and you've already read more than 1/2 the book. That's almost 60 pages!

Our new nightly routine involves Mommy or Daddy reading 3 or 4 books and you reading 1 or 2 books. It's pretty awesome, and you're doing great! Keep up the good work!

Love you lots,

Mommy

Reader in Training

Maev-

You are rockin' the Bob books, and I'm very impressed. I thought Grandma would enjoy checking out your skills; so here's a quick video.

Keep up the good work!

Love ya,

Mom
